WHAT
NEGA DOES
The New England
Gerontological Association (NEGA), founded in 1958, offers a broad range
of service to individuals and providers of aging services in the New
England Region.
On behalf of
its dues-paying members, NEGA . . .
- keeps
tuned-in to current state and federal legislation that affects facilities
providing care and services to the aging,
- supports
educational institutions focusing on the disciplines concerned with aging;
- sponsors
educational and training activities for service providers and consumers,
- identifies
practical problems and works toward solution of unmet needs and resolution
of complexities of meeting service needs under fiscal and regulatory constraints.
NEGA is an advocacy
organization, with a common focus that offers a merger of varied interests
and concerns to deal with governmental agencies and the new forces that affect
the aging and the provision of long-term care and nursing home and related
services to the aging.
NEGA also has
the capability of responding to the specific needs of its individual
members and organizational needs of institutional members. It endeavors
to focus on solutions to practical problems, which they may be unable to effectively
cope with through their own resources. Membership Information
